Mariana Fonseca
Ph.D Student
Mariana Fonseca holds a degree in Portuguese language, as well as a bachelor's and master's degree in Political Science from the University of Brasília, Brazil. She has experience in human rights, social participation, and social movements. She particularly focuses on the relationships between social movements and the State, and more recently, between social movements and the market.
Currently, she is a Ph.D. student in Political Science at the University of Brasília. Her research explores the relationship between organizations and movements in Brazilian urban peripheries, specifically the Central Única das Favelas (CUFA), and the market. The aim is to understand the effects on forms of action and citizenship construction in comparison to those with the State.
