Garance holds a Master's degree in Social Sciences from EHESS (2013). Her first research focused on the use and appropriation of the language of human rights by Nicaraguan political actors during the revolutionary period (1979-1990), she was under the direction of Gilles Bataillon. Now under the direction of Françoise Montambeault at Université de Montréal, her doctoral thesis aims at extending these reflections by comparing three Central American countries: Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala, over a longer period (1978-2018). The theme of human rights is seen as a prism for understanding the democratization processes at work in the region as a whole.
